It's kind of hard to see the flyer here, but I actually made a real fake flyer so check it out below!
After I finished this page I realized it makes absolutely no sense. No one actually prints out flyers or promotes the old fashioned way anymore. The days of standing outside a busy venue or night club and handing out flyers for your next show are basically dead. Everything is online these days, particularly on Facebook. If you're putting together a show or some other event, all you have to do is create a Facebook event page and invite all your friends. That's pretty much it! While this makes things much easier, I think it's has actually ruined things in a way. Promoting exclusively online eliminates something called human interaction. I just think there's something more genuine about the actual gesture of handing a physical piece of paper to a friend or a stranger and saying, "Hey I have a band and we're playing a show. You should go to it, because I constantly need people to pay attention to me."

This type of promotion still exists, but it's very rare. I can't remember the last time I was handed a flyer for an upcoming show. Of course, maybe that's because no one likes me and they'd rather not have me at their show anyway. Yeah, that's probably it..
Hey, this is quite the opportunity to tell you about my band's next show! Online promotion! YEAH! It's on November 24th, the weekend after Thanksgiving, in St. Pete! So if you happen to be nearby you should come! Sorry I can't hand you a physical copy of this flyer I made. But I encourage you to print it out and pretend like I just handed it to you. Do it! You won't look silly at all!
That's about all I got for this week. The story continues next week!

That’s actually a pretty rad flyer.
Which one am I referring to, might you ask?
Both.
Thanks! I made both!
