If Florida is America's wang, then the rest of the Southeast region is the balls, obviously. I thought I had stepped away from dick jokes, moving on to a much more high brow approach to comedy and storytelling, but here we are. And I can't promise it'll end here either..
Going on tour is something every band who takes themselves somewhat seriously should do at least once. It is truly unique and fulfilling experience, that is if you make it home alive. There's no better feeling than being on the road, playing your music, having complete freedom, running into car problems, having absolutely no money, and sleeping on some stranger's floor. Wait, what am I talking about? Going on tour kind of sucks when you consider all those negatives, but the positives balance it all out in a way, I think. Kind of. Fuck. Playing your music in front of a whole new crowd of people is always a great feeling. Meeting new people and making new friends/fans are even better feelings. However, if you're first starting out locally with practically no audience you're almost certain to have an even smaller crowd in completely new city. Which really sucks, because then you have no one paying to get into your shows or buying your merch. That's when you stop making your money back, and you run out of gas money, and you run into car problems, and you're stuck in a van with a bunch of smelly dudes, and you kind of just want it all to be over and done with so you can go home and sleep in a real bed.
I can only speak from mild experience though since the longest tour I have been on was about a week and a half. But I've still managed to play a good amount of out of town shows with a couple different bands. Maybe that's a good thing for me. I can't imagine how well I'd do on the road for a month or two, or more.. I think I would probably rip someone's head off at that point D:

Mmmm smelly dudes
Highbrow – dudes in a band…. highbrow – dudes in a band… nope, gotta put a dick joke in there.
Sticking to what I’m good at, I suppose
